Massage offers profound physical and emotional benefits to veterans, addressing the unique challenges they face. By alleviating chronic pain, reducing stress and anxiety, improving sleep, and enhancing overall well-being, massage therapy can significantly improve a veteran's quality of life. It provides a tangible path to relaxation, grounding, and healing, helping veterans to manage the lasting effects of their service and transition back to civilian life.
Through the Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), veterans have access to many therapies, including massage therapy. Our Registered Massage Therapists in St. Albert have successfully undergone the approval process by VAC.
What should I know about veterans massage therapy?
Veterans massage approval is done through VAC’s Treatment Benefits Program. You can read about how this works here. We are qualified to provide various massage therapy services at no charge to you, as outlined by the VAC. While VAC only covers a specific dollar amount per session, we do not charge beyond this cost, meaning you can receive treatment without financial burden. If we find you need more than your allotted therapy sessions, we will submit a request on your behalf to extend your coverage. See our special rates for veterans here.

Is veterans massage right for me?
Massage therapy offers many benefits to those who have served, and its benefits are extensive. However, massage is not a stand-alone treatment if you have complex challenges as the result of your time serving our country. While we encourage veterans to utilize massage therapy, it’s equally important to ensure you have other supports in place, whether medical or psychological. We’re honoured to serve our veterans as they served us and look forward to providing you relief.
Pain Relief
Massage helps relieve pain from old injuries, as well as any compensatory pain (such as relying on one leg to alleviate pain from another).
Supported Sleep
Whether it’s chronic pain or mental burdens keeping sleep at bay, massage can help veterans relax and feel calmer for a better, lasting sleep.
Better Circulation
Massage brings fresh oxygen and nutrients to your muscles to promote healing and reduce inflammation. This is helpful for new and old injuries alike.
PTSD and Mental Health Support
The relaxation and released tension from massage helps manage stress, anxiety, and PTSD symptoms. Our RMTs provide different therapies, helping manage the invisible wounds many of our veterans carry.
Improved Range of Motion
For veterans with limited mobility, massage can help improve flexibility and range of motion.
Enhanced Physical Performance
Whether you are trying to stay active after duty or want daily life to be easier, massage can help you perform better through various stretching techniques.
Decreased Reliance on Medication
A massage can reduce your need for over-the-counter medications. When your sleep and physical health improve, it can result in less frequent use of medications that you might be taking for physical and mental help.

What Our Clients Are Saying
"The people are great! Friendly staff and flexible appointments. They have direct billing with insurance too which is really nice. I've been going in for deep tissue massage for the last 3 weeks and my muscles are finally loosening up. Grace is amazing at deep tissue massage. I highly recommend her if that's what you're looking for... and it takes me a lot to say that. I don't give praise unless it's deserved."
Tannis Mason
"I dealt with shoulder pain for a year and half. I saw multiple massage therapists throughout that time and no one could seem to relieve the pain and stiffness. One session with Craig and he fixed it. He even knew the cause just based on my description of the issue before we even started the massage. I highly recommend him!"
Candida Tookey
"Amazing results! I've been meeting with Craig for a few months now, and we've managed to completely obliterate my chronic shoulder pain. Craig uses a number of different modalities to address issues you may be experiencing. He's enthusiastic about his work, and it comes through in our sessions. Craig's jovial and professional personality was key to putting any hesitations I may have had at ease, as he was the first male massage therapist I've worked with. Always comfortable, always professional."
Kim Davidson
"Lexy was great. She's clearly passionate about massage, health & fitness, and she was very knowledgeable on ways to correct tightness in my body. She even provided stretching suggestions/examples specific to my problem areas after my massage time had run out."
